Canadian

The carriages of the Canadian, the prestige train of the Canadian railroad company VIA Rail, date back to the golden age of North American railroads. You will be lovingly served in the dining car and have several menus to choose from for all meals. The panoramic carriages and the all-glass observation car at the end of the train are particularly popular.

Cabin couchette compartment

The Kajüt couchette coach is an open compartment with two wide armchairs facing each other. At night, the seats opposite each other are pushed together to form a wide bed and a second bed is folded down from the ceiling (sleeping area: 109 × 178 cm). Heavy curtains provide the desired privacy. Washbasin, shower and WC are available as shared facilities at the end of each carriage.

Two-bed-sleeping car compartment

In the sleeping car (two-bed compartment), you have a closed compartment (220 × 151 cm + toilet room 84 × 64 cm) at your sole disposal. In addition to two freely movable chairs, your compartment includes a separate WC and your own washbasin with mirror and socket. Just a few meters away is the shower, which is available to all passengers in a carriage. For overnight journeys, the sleeper coach attendant will prepare your beds (79 × 180 cm).

Single sleeping car compartment

In the sleeping car (single compartment), you book a private compartment (196 × 110 cm) with a comfortable seat that is converted into a bed for overnight journeys (sleeping area: 76 × 180 cm; narrows to 66 cm from waist height). WC, washbasin, mirror and power socket are part of the equipment. The communal shower installed in the middle of the coach is easily accessible via the corridor.

Prestige Sleeper Class compartment

The newly refurbished Prestige Sleeper Class carriages offer more spacious cabins with a private shower and toilet, larger panoramic windows, minibar service, and a flat-screen TV with access to a selection of movies. Complimentary drinks are served in the cabin on request.

Rocky Mountaineer

With the Rocky Mountaineer, you travel through the unique mountain world of the Rocky Mountains exclusively by day, so that all the scenic highlights are presented in the best light. On board the train, you have the choice between two classes: SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf.

GoldLeaf Class

With GoldLeaf Class, you are opting for first-class service. As a guest in this class, you receive special care that begins at the station with a separate counter. You board the Rocky Mountaineer first and are taken directly to your reserved seat in the so-called Dome Car. Here you sit in comfortable armchairs on the air-conditioned upper floor under a continuous glass dome, which provides you with a fascinating panoramic view at all times. Excellent, freshly prepared delicacies are served in the dining car on the lower floor. There is an open viewing platform at the end of the train. The very comfortable seats can be rotated so that you can travel forwards or sit opposite each other in groups of 4 people. For photographers, there is an open platform on the lower level of the carriage from which you can take photos without disturbing reflections.

SilverLeaf Class

In SilverLeaf Class, you travel in an air-conditioned open-plan coach. Extra-large windows right up to the roof give you a fantastic panoramic view on both sides of the route. The seats are facing the direction of travel; breakfast and lunch are served at your seat; a free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink with lunch and a free choice of two main courses characterize this service class. Due to the train configuration, it is not possible to transfer between the two classes.
