The best a panoramic view of the region is from the viewing platform on Harder Kulm, Interlaken's local mountain. In just 15 minutes, the cable car whisks you up to the 1,322-metre summit, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the two lakes and the iconic peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Interlaken is an ideal starting point for a trip to the Jungfraujoch. Even the journey to the world-famous Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe" at 3,454 m is a highlight. Here, you’ll be treated to an indescribably breathtaking view of the UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, along with another 200 mountain peaks. Another highlight is "Spy World," an interactive exhibition dedicated to the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, two-thirds of which was filmed in the region.

Interlaken hosts an number of events throughout the year. Highlights include the Greenfield Festival featuring top-class bands in mid-June, and the International Trucker & Country Festival showcasing fantastic music at the end of the same month. Additionally, the Tell Open-Air Theatre offers performances on a natural stage in the Rugenwald forest from mid-June to early September.
