Al Andalus: Seville - Madrid

Meeting point at 10a.m. in a luxury hotel in Seville. Afterwards, enjoy a guided tour of the Andalusian capital with its historic center, including the Cathedral, Giralda, Real Alcázar and Archivo de Indias. After lunch at the hotel, a city tour will be organized, giving you the opportunity to stroll across the Plaza de España. Boarding the Al Andalus train and settling into your cabin. After breakfast on board, you will visit the Mosque-Cathedral and then continue the tour of the former capital of the Emirate and the medieval Caliphate of Al Andalus, when it became the largest, most cultured, and most opulent city in Western Europe.
Lunch on board while traveling to Jerez. From Jerez, you will visit Cádiz in the afternoon. Known as “Tacita de Plata,” Cádiz is considered the oldest city in the West. Dinner in Cádiz and overnight stay in Jerez.

After breakfast, you will visit the city of Jerez and enjoy the show “Cómo Bailan los Caballos Andaluces,” a famous equestrian ballet accompanied by Spanish music. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant, followed by an afternoon visit to a wine cellar. Dinner on board the train while traveling to Zafra. Overnight stay in Zafra.

During breakfast, the train arrives in Cáceres, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where streets, squares, and palaces are exceptionally well preserved thanks to the cultural blend that makes Cáceres a unique experience.
Lunch on board upon arrival in Mérida, where you will relive the grandeur of the ancient Roman Empire. Founded in 25 BC, this city is also a World Heritage Site, and you will explore its ruins and history. Dinner and overnight stay in Mérida.

While you enjoy breakfast, the train arrives in Alcázar de San Juan, located in the Castilian region of La Mancha and internationally renowned for its cheese and wine. You will visit an artisanal cheese factory and a wine cellar. Lunch in the region. In the afternoon, visit Campo de Criptana with its iconic windmills, said to have inspired Cervantes for his novel Don Quixote. Return to Alcázar de San Juan, dinner on board, and overnight stay in this town.

While you enjoy breakfast, the train arrives in Aranjuez. From here, you will visit Toledo, another UNESCO World Heritage city that was once the most monumental imperial city in Europe. The blend of Christians, Muslims, and Jews with their architectural representations - the Gothic cathedral, the 10th-century mosque, and two synagogues - has given Toledo its universal character. In the afternoon, we visit the Royal Palace of Aranjuez and its gardens. The palace is also a World Heritage Site, and every corner of this royal estate is filled with history and beauty. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Aranjuez.

After a final breakfast on board, you bid farewell to the train and its beloved crew to enjoy a city tour, concluding the journey around 1:30 p.m. in Madrid.
