Corsica's coastline is the stuff of dreams, with a succession of splendid gulfs fringed with heavenly beaches, soaring mountains, fishermen's marinas and proud Genoese towers. The beauty of the Corsican coastline reaches its apogee in the fantastic calanques of Piana, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sites in the Mediterranean.

Corsican beaches are among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. How can you resist the turquoise sea and fine sand around Porto-Vecchio, at Palombaggia, Santa Giulia or Rondinara? These are the famous beaches in the south, but there are beautiful ones all around the island. One example is the beach at Arone in Piana. With your feet in the turquoise water, it's like being at the end of the world.

The island of beauty boasts more than 100 peaks over 2,000 metres, the highest of which, Monte Cinto, is 2,706 metres high. Corsica's mountains give rise to waterfalls and rivers, a vigorous natural landscape and dense green vegetation of forests and scrubland. In Corsica, hikers enjoy a grandiose natural setting, with the deep blue sea always on the horizon.

Corsica is beautiful for its charming eagle's nest villages, its many citadels such as Calvi and Corte, and its Genoese towers all around the island. In Bonifacio, the picturesque old town is perched on impressive cliffs, 60 metres high. A boat trip to Bonifacio allows you to appreciate the cliffs from the sea, with their grottoes and grooves carved by the sea and the winds.

The island's gastronomy gives pride of place to local produce: Corsican charcuterie such as figatellu, prisuttu or coppa, Corsican cheeses made from goat's or sheep's milk such as the famous brocciu, lamb, wild boar, etc. Chestnut flour is used in the preparation of many dishes, as is Corsican honey. Fish and shellfish also feature prominently on seaside tables. Corsican wines, of excellent quality, are a reflection of the island: full-bodied but delectable.
