The Indian Pacific

The Indian Pacific covers 4,352 km from Sydney to Perth - one of the longest rail routes in the world. The at least 25 shiny silver wagons, which come from American companies, are pulled by two diesel locomotives. Depending on how many wagons are attached, the train can have a length of around 410 to 690 meters.

On the journey with the Indian Pacific from Perth to Sydney, the program includes excursions to the mining town of Kalgoorlie, to Adelaide and to Broken Hill in the outback. These excursions are conducted in English.

The Ghan

The Ghan, whose name comes from The Afghanistan Express and is reminiscent of the Afghan camel drivers who used to transport goods in the outback, is now a rolling legend. The train travels 2,979 kilometers from Darwin in the north of the country to Adelaide in the south, or in the opposite direction, criss-crossing the Red Continent and passing through 4 climate zones along the way.
