Orient Silk Road Express

Your special Orient Silk Road Express train offers you the greatest possible comfort for traveling on the legendary Silk Road. Some of the carriages, including several sleeping cars and an on-board restaurant, were completely rebuilt in 2013. The cosy restaurant cars also run with bar service in the evenings. The Orient Silk Road Express has air conditioning, which is switched on as long as the train is running. In all categories you will find 110 and 220 volt sockets and a smoking area at one end of each carriage. We offer four different compartment categories.

Habibi compartment (4-bed compartments)

There are 4 guests in each compartment. Two beds (approx. 0.67 m x 1.84 m*) are arranged one above the other, with a table in the middle under the window. In this category, you have the option of occupying the 4-bed compartment with 3 people for an additional charge. Each carriage has 9 compartments. There are combined washrooms and toilets at both ends of the wagon.

Ali Baba compartment (2-bed compartments)

These carriages offer considerably more space. In the Ali Baba category, there are two comfortable lower beds (0.67 × 1.84 m*) facing each other, a small table and various luggage storage options. In this category, you will also find combined toilet and washroom facilities for 9 compartments at both ends of the carriage.

Compartment Aladin (2-bed compartments)

The equipment of these compartments corresponds to the Ali Baba category: two lower beds opposite each other (0.67 × 1.84 m*), a small table and a luggage rack. There are only 8 compartments per carriage in this category. In addition, guests have a shower at their disposal and travelers receive one robe per compartment. There are combined toilet and washroom facilities at both ends of the carriage.

Compartment Kalif (2-bed compartments)

In the Kalif category, you will find luxurious compartments with en-suite bathroom. The lower bed measures 1.12 × 1.84 m*, the upper bed 0.80 × 1.74 cm*. A very spacious wardrobe, bathrobe and slippers are at your disposal. Each compartment has its own bathroom with toilet, washbasin and separate shower cubicle. A carriage of this category with the highest possible comfort accommodates just 4 compartments, so that there is room for a maximum of 8 guests per carriage. As a guest in this category, you will be looked after by your own tour guide in groups of a maximum of 12 travelers.

Dining car

Freshly prepared regional dishes are served here. In the evening, the restaurant car with bar invites you to a cosy get-together. Non-alcoholic drinks, beer, wine and spirits are available.
