Arrival in St. Moritz by train. Time at leisure for optional sightseeing and excursions. Overnight in St. Moritz.

2e jour: Glacier Express Saint-Moritz - Zermatt (8h)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you board the legendary Glacier Express for an impressive journey through the Swiss Alps, from St. Moritz to Zermatt: a spectacular 8-hour journey in which the train crosses 291 bridges, 91 tunnels and climbs to 2033 m at the Oberalp Pass. 3rd day: Zermatt and return journey

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy Zermatt or take a trip to the Gornergrat. Europe's highest open-air rack railway leads from Zermatt to the Gornergrat. The train crosses impressive bridges, galleries and tunnels. From the summit you have a magnificent panoramic view of the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and other snow-capped peaks rising above 4000 metres. If you want to go even higher, you should include the excursion Matterhorn Glacier Paradise in your programme. Individual return journey.

An eight-hour train journey through Switzerland? At the thought, I was a bit skeptical and my enthusiasm was rather limited when I packed my bag for the three-day trip. However, my initial skepticism gave way to pure amazement once I was on the train ride through the Rhine Gorge.
