Tren a las Nubes - The train into the clouds

A breathtaking journey through tunnels, over bridges and viaducts - that's what the Tren a las Nubes, the train into the clouds, offers! The starting point of the climbing tour through the Argentinian Andes is San Antonio de los Cobres, the highlight of the day trip with its magnificent views is the La Polvorilla viaduct at an altitude of 4,220 meters. The electric tourist train, which travels at an average speed of 25 km/h, has 10 comfortably equipped carriages with air conditioning and a restaurant car. There is also a doctor on board just in case.

Tren de la Costa

As its name suggests, the route of the Tren de la Costa runs along the coast. Passing picturesque villages, it takes you from Vicente Lopez to the Tigre river delta, 15 km away. The 25-minute drive takes you into a labyrinth of over 2,000 km of river and hundreds of small islands.

Vistadome

The Vistadome offers you a comfortable journey through the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes at the foot of the Inca site of Machu Picchu. In the large panoramic carriages, this train offers the best view and ideal opportunities to take impressive photos on the 2.5-hour, very varied and scenically fascinating journey. The train is furnished in the elegant style of the great Pullman trains of the 1920s. You can enjoy a delicious lunch and afternoon tea in the air-conditioned dining car. You marvel at the fantastic landscapes through the large panoramic windows. First, the train crosses the gentle plains of the Altiplano, the habitat of the vicuñas and alpacas. In La Raya, at the highest point of the route (at 4,321 m), the train stops for you - you can take fantastic photos from here! The second half of the journey is dominated by magnificent panoramas of the Andes, through which the Huatanay River meanders. After around ten hours' drive, you reach Cusco at an altitude of 3,300 m.
