Royal Scotsman

The Belmond Royal Scotsman consists of 2 historic dining cars, 6 sleeping cars with a total of 16 double compartments, and a car with grand suites, a spa car and the "Observation Car" with bar and open veranda. On board the train there is a library with English books and the latest daily newspapers are always available. The luxury train offers space for 40 guests, who are looked after by 16 train attendants. The excursions take place in comfortable excursion coaches.

All compartments have their own bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries and towels, closet, chest of drawers, individually adjustable heating and ventilation. There are only lower beds. Most double cabins consist of 2 beds at a 90-degree angle to each other. Cabin service is available around the clock via a call button.

The Grand Suites offer more space, the option of enjoying meals in the suite, all spa treatments included and much more awaits Grand Suite guests.

The lounge car is the meeting point for the tour company, where excellent alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served at all times of the day. Information events also take place here. In the evenings, local artists often perform and entertain you with uplifting music or gruesome stories. The car is also known as the "Observation Car", as there is an open veranda at the end where you can enjoy the scenery in the refreshing breeze.

The Royal Scotsman's restaurant offers exquisite cuisine. The menus are prepared with exquisite local seasonal produce and are considered one of the most exclusive culinary experiences in the UK. The chefs create true works of art - passengers are always amazed at how they achieve this in such a small space!

The two dining cars "Raven" and "Victory" are beautifully furnished with tasteful mahogany paneling and luxurious fabrics. The ideal setting to enjoy fine cuisine, exquisite wines and the company of your traveling companions.

There are formal and informal dinners on board the Royal Scotsman, which usually alternate. For the formal dinners we recommend a dark suit, tuxedo or kilt for the gentlemen and a cocktail dress or similar evening attire for the ladies. For "informal" dinners, a jacket with or without a tie is the norm for gentlemen. If the temperature is exceptionally high, you are welcome to wear a polo shirt to an informal dinner.

If you fancy a beauty or wellness treatment during your journey, the new spa car is at your disposal. But beware: the treatments are very popular and it is worth booking an appointment on board well in advance.
