The Isenheim Altarpiece, the jewel of Colmar, is on display in the Musée Unterlinden, a beautiful jewellery box designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. Created in the 16th century and beautifully restored in 2022, the polyptych consists of 10 paintings by Matthias Grünewald and 8 reliefs carved by Nicholas of Haguenau. A visit is a must!
In addition to the Unterlinden Museum, you should also pay a visit to the Maison Pfister, one of the most beautiful houses in Alsace.

Colmar, with all its charming hotels, is certainly one of the most attractive places in France. Every Friday and Saturday at nightfall, Colmar is cloaked in its most beautiful lights. A visit over the weekend is worthwhile for this reason alone.

Colmar is the capital of Alsatian wines and is located on the Alsatian Wine Route, which is one of the oldest tourist roads in France and runs for 170 km through the Alsatian wine region. In one of the typical Alsatian restaurants you can taste the tasty regional specialities.
