The Landwasser Viaduct is one of the most famous structures in Graubünden. The 142-metre-long and 65-metre-high bridge leads the railroad line in a tight curve over the wild Landwasser Valley and directly into a tunnel.
With its round shape, it is the emblem of the Bernina line.

1ˢᵗ day: Arrival in Chur

Arrival in Chur by train. Enjoy today this alpine town, the gateway between north and south. The train journey alone is already in itself worthwhile and you will not be able to escape the mountain magic during the train journey. You will be recompensed here with picturesque alleys and a unique alpine flora, a vibrant city life, art and culture and all this in a very small area. Overnight in Chur.

2ⁿᵈ day: Bernina Express Chur – Lugano (9h15)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you travel on the Bernina Express of the Rhäthische railway along the UNESCO World Heritage Route. Enjoy an alpine railway journey which takes you from the high glaciers of the mountains to the south to Tirano (Italy). The Bernina Express is the highest railway line across the Alps and connects northern and southern Europe in a spectacular way. It takes you over the Bernina Pass and the open hairpin bend at Brusio to Tirano (Italy). Time for lunch or a walk through Tirano. Continue your journey with the Bernina Express Bus through Valtellina and along Lake Como to Lugano in the lovely Ticino. Overnight in Lugano.

3ʳᵈ day Lugano and return journey

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day off in Lugano. Lugano is a must see. A charming paradise on the shores of Lago di Lugano. Palm trees, a romantic lake promenade and a beautiful old town. A trip to the oh so beautiful Ticino is pure relaxation. Already Paul Klee, Franz Kafka, Hermann Hesse and even Giacomo Casanova were attracted by the lovely city and didn't let anything burn here. We also recommend an excursion to Monte Generoso. Individual return journey.
