The Landwasser Viaduct is one of the most iconic landmarks in Graubünden. This 142-metre-long, 65-metre-high bridge carries the railway in a sharp curve over the rugged Landwasser Valley, leading directly into a tunnel at the other end.

1ˢᵗ day: Bernina Express Chur – Tirano (4h30)

Arrival in Chur by train. Continuation with the Bernina Express on the Albula line via Filisur over the Bernina Pass and the open loop at Brusio to Tirano (Italy). Discover the spectacular Rhine Gorge, the wild Albula Valley or the natural paradise of the Engadine with the Rhaetian Railway. Enjoy a wonderful panoramic journey on the Bernina Express over viaducts, passing glaciers and right through the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The many viewing platforms along your journey offer magnificent views. Overnight in Tirano.

2ⁿᵈ day: Bernina Express Tirano – Lugano (3h)

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a relaxed journey on the Bernina Express Bus through the countryside between Tirano and Lugano. Through Valtellina, the Italian valley, which stretches in a wide arc around the Grisons mountains, past small towns, along Lake Como, across beautiful bays and dreamy fishing villages to Lugano. Overnight in Lugano.

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day off in Lugano. Lugano is simply a must see. A charming paradise on the shores of Lago di Lugano. Palm trees, a romantic lake promenade and a wonderful old town. A trip to the oh so beautiful Ticino is pure relaxation. Already Paul Klee, Franz Kafka, Hermann Hesse and even Giacomo Casanova were attracted by the lovely city and didn't let anything burn here. We also recommend an excursion to Monte Generoso. Individual return journey.
