Provence-Côte d’Azur

The region is characterised by its rolling hills, generous sunshine and the deep blue of the sky and sea.

Whether on the beach, by the sea, in the colourful markets or on the terrace over an aperitif: listen carefully, because this melodic sound is the sound of your holidays!

The South of France, a little piece of paradise: The south of France is synonymous with radiant sunshine, the azure blue of the sky and the sea and the intense light that so fascinated Renoir, Matisse and Cézanne. The region fascinates with its gentleness, its scents and its colours. Here, guests become one with their surroundings as they stroll through the markets and sip their aperitif under the arbours. Discoveries are also on the programme, as there are so many extraordinary sights in this wonderful corner of France.

The charm of Provence: lavender fields, picturesque villages and colourful markets are an expression of this special charm. Follow in the footsteps of Cézanne in Aix-en-Provence, dance on the bridge in Avignon, travel back to ancient times in the arena in Arles or at the Pont du Gard. In Marseille, follow the call of the sea and embark on a boat tour. The capital of the region is worth a trip in itself.

The Côte d'Azur, infinitely blue: Nice, the capital of the Côte d'Azur, blossoms with its feet in the water, facing the «Baie des Anges». On its doorstep, the French Riviera offers breathtaking panoramas, dreamy villas and gardens. By train, discover film-loving Cannes, Monaco on its rock, and Menton at the gateway to Italy. The fine sandy beaches of Saint-Raphaël stretch further west, as do those of Sainte-Maxime, opposite Saint-Tropez. The sea is everywhere, blending into the sky in a marvellous symphony of blue.

From the end of June to the end of August, TGV Lyria takes you direct from Lausanne and Geneva to Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and Marseille in less than 4 hours. The journey is possible all year round, with a change at Lyon or Valence, from where the TGV also serves Saint-Raphaël, Cannes, Antibes and Nice.
