Take some time to settle into your cabin and enjoy the breathtaking scenery as the train makes its way towards Spean Bridge, where you will spend the night. In the evening, indulge in a delicious, relaxed dinner onboard, followed by entertainment in the Observation Car. Soak in the magical atmosphere as the train glides through the dramatic landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, setting the perfect tone for the journey ahead.

This morning, the train continues westward, passing Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, which you can admire from the Observation Car. In Arisaig, you will disembark for a morning stroll along the silver sands of Morar. Take in the soft white beaches and the stunning views of the Cuillin Mountains. Lunch will be served as the train travels back to Fort William, passing over the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. The afternoon offers two options: explore Glenfinnan with our Highlander guide and learn about the history of Bonnie Prince Charlie's rebellion, or join our mountain guides for a hike through the breathtaking Glen Nevis to the Steall Waterfall.

In the evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner, followed by lively Scottish music in the panoramic car.

There are formal and informal dinners on board the Royal Scotsman, which usually alternate. For the formal dinners, we recommend sporty and elegant clothing or a kilt to match the high standard. For the “informal” dinners, a jacket with or without a tie is the norm for gentlemen. If the temperature is exceptionally high, you are welcome to attend informal dinners in a polo shirt.
