Bergen Railway

It connects the capital Oslo with the second most important city in Norway, picturesque Bergen, over a distance of around 500 km. The railroad line runs for around 100 km above the tree line and crosses the largest plateau in Europe, the northern Hardangervidda. Here you can experience the Norwegian highlands in a remote landscape that can otherwise only be reached on foot or by bike. You reach the highest point of the train journey at 1,237 meters above sea level. Here the landscape resembles the high mountains of Switzerland. The Bergen Railway is considered the most beautiful railroad line in Norway.

Flåm Railway

In Myrdal, the spectacular Flåm Railway branches off into the wild Flåmsdalen valley. Over a distance of just over 20 km, it covers a difference in altitude of 864 meters. Passing spectacular waterfalls and through adventurous gorges, it takes around 60 minutes to reach the tranquil town of Flåm.

Nordland Railway

The Nordland Railway is the only Norwegian railroad line that crosses the Arctic Circle.
It connects Trondheim with Bodø over a distance of 729 km. The landscape that the train passes through is green and lush in the south, but as soon as the line crosses the Saltfjellet mountain range, it changes to a barren landscape and soon the Arctic Circle is reached.
