A cultural experience that is unique in the world: every summer, the impressive Lake Stage on Lake Constance is transformed into a stage for opera, theatre and music – with spectacular backdrops directly on the water. A must-see for culture fans and a highlight of any city break. But Bregenz is a stage all year round: with museums, galleries, concerts and charming festivals.
-
Modern architecture meets contemporary art: the KUB is an international exhibition venue of world renown – transparent, purist, inspiring. Here you can experience exciting temporary exhibitions right in the city centre.
-
The Pfänderbahn cable car takes you to the 1,064-metre-high viewpoint above Lake Constance in just a few minutes. Panoramic views of over 200 Alpine peaks, hiking trails and an Alpine wildlife park await you – ideal for nature lovers and active holidaymakers.
-
Enjoy relaxing walks along the waterfront promenade with views of the lake, charming cafés and the historic harbour. Boat trips also depart from here – for example, to the flower island of Mainau or to Lindau.
-
The Martinsturm tower with its baroque onion dome not only offers history, but also a wonderful view over Bregenz. The adjacent old town exudes atmosphere with its cobblestone streets and narrow alleys.
-
Via Zurich and St. Gallen, you can reach Bregenz in around 2 to 3 hours with SBB or ÖBB – either with a convenient change in St. Margrethen or Feldkirch, or directly. This means your city break can begin in a relaxed manner – without having to search for a parking space and with wonderful views of Lake Constance and the Vorarlberg mountains.
