For the new production in Bregenz, acclaimed Italian director Damiano Michieletto has transposed the action to the Roaring Twenties. Inspired by the glamorous flair of the Great Gatsby era, he leads «the fallen woman» into a world where everything seems to be permitted – except true love. Between jazz clubs and decadent parties, a zest for life and fragility, Violetta faces a decision that will seal her fate forever.
