Wyk was founded in 1819 as the first seaside resort on the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein. In the winding alleyways of the small town, you will discover historic Frisian houses, attractive shops and an abundance of cosy cafés.

The wide, child-friendly beaches of Föhr with their shallow waters are ideal for family holidays. The south beach of Wyk, with its promenade, cafés and restaurants, is particularly popular with sun worshippers who want to enjoy the view of the Wadden Sea. Föhr is also an excellent place for windsurfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddling.

The villages on Föhr, such as Nieblum and Utersum, are typical of the North Frisian Islands. With their traditional thatched-roof houses and charming streets, they offer an insight into historic island life. Nieblum in particular, with its good restaurants and the Frisian House (a museum showcasing Frisian traditions), is a highlight.
