In the afternoon, board the Britannic Explorer at London Victoria Station, ready to explore the picturesque north. Start your journey with a traditional Cumbrian afternoon tea while you enjoy the view of the passing countryside. Perhaps treat yourself to a soothing treatment in the spa suite afterwards.
The route takes you through the heart of England, past the idyllic landscapes of Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire. As dusk falls, the elegant bar awaits you, where you can enjoy a selection of signature cocktails in a convivial atmosphere. Afterwards, take a seat in the sumptuous restaurant car to savour a menu created by top chef Simon Rogan. You can look forward to dishes that impress with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and innovative flavours.
After an entertaining evening programme on board, you can retire to your comfortable suite for a restful night's sleep. The train stops overnight at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, a lovingly restored heritage line in the heart of Brontë country.

2ⁿᵈ day: Keighley - Workington - Penrith - Appleby
Start the day with a relaxed brunch. Your route takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The train then glides along the south coast of Cumbria and further north, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Irish Sea.
In the early afternoon you reach Workington, the gateway to the Lake District. From there, a chauffeur will take you to Lingholm Estate, a Grade II listed Victorian manor house on the shores of Derwentwater Lake. This idyllic location, where children's author Beatrix Potter spent many summers, is reserved exclusively for Britannic Explorer guests. Choose your own personal adventure: a boat trip across the lake, a guided swim in the open water, a scenic hike through the fells or relaxing lawn games on the estate.
In the evening, return to the train in Penrith and relax before dinner. Another exquisite dinner awaits you, followed by varied evening entertainment on board. The train spends the night on the picturesque route of the Settle & Carlisle Railway.

This morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast on board as the train winds its way along the picturesque Settle & Carlisle Line - a route often described as the most beautiful railway route in England. Cross the impressive Ribblehead Viaduct and marvel at the spectacular scenery of the Peak District.
Once in Oxfordshire, disembark for a short drive to Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, a Belmond Hotel and the elegant country residence of Chief Patron Raymond Blanc OBE. In the stylish dining room Le Belle Époque, an exquisite dinner awaits you in a festive dinner jacket atmosphere, where you can savour the exceptional garden-to-table cuisine, which has been awarded two Michelin stars.
After an evening of culinary refinement, you will return on board the Britannic Explorer, where you can prepare for a restful night amidst the tranquil hills of the Chilterns.

Enjoy your breakfast on board while the train starts its return journey to London. On the journey through the idyllic landscapes of Oxfordshire, you can take in the last views of the picturesque surroundings. The train arrives at Victoria Station in the morning, so you can start the day refreshed and energised.
