In the afternoon, board the Britannic Explorer at London Victoria Station, ready to explore the picturesque north. Start your journey with a traditional Cumbrian afternoon tea while you enjoy the view of the passing countryside. Perhaps treat yourself to a soothing treatment in the spa suite afterwards.

The route takes you through the heart of England, past the idyllic landscapes of Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire. As dusk falls, the elegant bar awaits you, where you can enjoy a selection of signature cocktails in a convivial atmosphere. Afterwards, take a seat in the sumptuous restaurant car to savour a menu created by top chef Simon Rogan. You can look forward to dishes that impress with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and innovative flavours.

After an entertaining evening programme on board, you can retire to your comfortable suite for a restful night's sleep. The train stops overnight at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, a lovingly restored heritage line in the heart of Brontë country.

From there, a chauffeur will take you to Lingholm Estate, a Grade II listed Victorian manor house on the shores of Derwentwater Lake. This idyllic location, where children's author Beatrix Potter spent many summers, is reserved exclusively for Britannic Explorer guests. Choose your own personal adventure: a boat trip across the lake, a guided swim in the open water, a scenic hike through the fells or relaxing lawn games on the estate.
