1ˢᵗ day: London - Haverfordwest
In the afternoon, board the Britannic Explorer at London Victoria Station, ready to set off on your journey to Wales. Get in the mood with a delicious Welsh afternoon tea as you admire the passing scenery through the window. The route takes you westwards, through Bristol, across the Severn Estuary into Wales and along the south coast through Cardiff and Swansea. The route continues through green Carmarthenshire, the ‘Garden of Wales’, to Pembrokeshire in the south-west. This region is characterised by its dramatic coastal landscape, historic castles and extensive sandy beaches.
As evening falls, the bar invites you to socialise with other guests over a selection of signature cocktails. Afterwards, a gourmet menu created by top chef Simon Rogan awaits you in the elegant restaurant car. The renowned chef and Chef Patron of the three Michelin-starred L'Enclume is a pioneer of farm-to-fork cuisine in the UK.
After an entertaining evening programme on board, retire to your suite for a restful night. The train spends the night in the charming county town of Haverfordwest.

2ⁿᵈ day: Haverfordwest – Porthmadog
With the first light of the sun illuminating the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline, you begin a day of discovery in the magical Welsh countryside. After a relaxed breakfast, disembark the train at Llandrindod Wells, where a guided walk through the tranquil valleys of the remote Welsh countryside awaits. En route, enjoy a traditional British picnic amidst fragrant lavender fields, accompanied by a carefully prepared hamper of local delicacies.
Return to the train at lunchtime and continue your journey along the picturesque Heart of Wales Line. This takes you through the idyllic uplands of Carmarthenshire and Powys as the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic. Your destination is Snowdonia National Park, known locally as Eryri - a place of majestic mountains, spectacular valleys and thundering waterfalls.
In the evening, another exquisite dinner awaits you on board, followed by atmospheric entertainment. The train spends the night in the charming harbour town of Porthmadog.

3ʳᵈ day: Porthmadog - Machynlleth - Moreton-in-Marsh
Start the day with a relaxing breakfast as the train leaves Porthmadog and continues its journey south to the charming town of Machynlleth on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking views from the panoramic carriage, especially as you cross the picturesque Barmouth Bridge.
In the morning, disembark in Machynlleth, a creative centre known for its museum of modern art. Our concierge has put together an exclusive black book of recommended activities for you, ranging from active experiences to savouring fine Welsh natural wines.
Back on board, a delicious lunch awaits as the train glides through the green landscapes of Mid Wales and Montgomeryshire, passing Welshpool before crossing the border into Shropshire. The journey continues through the Midlands to Moreton-in-Marsh, a picturesque market town known for its charming ‘chocolate box’ cottages.
Disembark here for an exclusive celebration in a traditional Cotswolds pub. Enjoy classic English specialities such as scotch eggs and sausage rolls, sample local beers and handcrafted liqueurs, and be shown how to pour the perfect pint - a truly authentic experience.
