The best way to get an initial overview of the region is from the viewing platform on the Harder Kulm, Interlaken's local mountain. The cable car takes you up to the 1,322 m high "hill" in 15 minutes. A breathtaking view of the two lakes and the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau awaits you here.
-
Interlaken is an ideal starting point for a trip to the Jungfraujoch. Even the journey to the world-famous Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe" at 3,454 m is a highlight. Once at the top, a multifaceted world of adventure awaits you with a tour of the Ice Palace, a multimedia adventure tour and a 360° cinema experience. From the Sphinx Terrace, you can enjoy a spectacular view of imposing mountain peaks and the Aletsch Glacier.
-
An impressive panorama also awaits you at the Piz Gloria, the revolving restaurant on the Schilthorn. An indescribable and breathtaking view of the UNESCO World Heritage Site with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and over 200 other mountain peaks awaits you here. Another attraction is "Spy World", an interactive exhibition on the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", a good two-thirds of which was filmed in the Bernese Oberland.
-
The location between the two lakes is what makes Interlaken so special. Marvel at the imposing mountains of the Bernese Oberland on a leisurely boat trip on the deep blue Lake Thun or the turquoise-coloured Lake Brienz.

There are countless events in Interlaken. The Greenfield Festival with top-class bands in mid-June, the International Trucker & Country Festival with great music at the end of June and the Tell Open-Air Theatre on a magnificent natural stage in the Rugenwald forest from mid-June to the beginning of September.
