L'Île-Rousse
A charming place for your holiday
L'Île-Rousse, a charming little town in the Balagne region, owes its name to the red porphyry rocks of the island of Pietra, now linked to the resort by a jetty, which is very popular at sunset. But it's on the Place Paoli that the hustle and bustle is in full swing: tourists sitting on terraces in the shade of the plane trees, petanque players under the hundred-year-old palm trees, not forgetting the market held every morning - just a stone's throw from the wide, white sandy beach.
